Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
Due to popular demand, the Caldwell 4th of July community celebration sponsored by the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce is making a come-back! Dwindling interest and low attendance over the past few years compelled the Chamber to take a break from hosting the annual event; but after hearing from several local citizens about how the celebration was missed, the Chamber decided to give it a try to see if the community was willing to attend and support the event again. As this year’s holiday falls on a Wednesday, the committee hopes that more people will decide to stay in town and take in the festivities.
The committee has been working on plans to revive the old- fashioned community celebration held at the city park. Some of the events in the works include horseshoe pitching, various games/events for kids and adults, food vendors, Czech Chapter beer garden, homemade ice cream, watermelon feed, stage show and of course the popular Medallion Search and fireworks display. If you’d like to be a part of the festivities, the stage show or have any suggestions/ideas on events you’d like to see brought back or added, contact the Chamber of Commerce. Businesses, groups and organizations are encouraged to get involved and help by offering to sponsor an event. For more information, visit the Chamber’s website at www.caldwellkansas.com or visit our Facebook page or contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Look for 4th of July buttons to be available at businesses soon. Purchase of a button will help support the celebration and fireworks display. Donation cannisters are located around town as well. The Chamber looks forward to your interest and support in bringing back the 4TH OF JULY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION!
